About Me

Hi there, thank you so much for stopping by.  My name is Laura and I'm happy to meet you.

I am a twenty-something graduate student from Texas.  I am a former educator. You may have heard of the program I taught with.  I now live in St. Louis, Missouri and am a current Master of Social Work candidate at Washington University.  I am an advocate and I love policy and education.  I, like many others in their twenties, feel a little lost sometimes.  I refuse to suffer from an expectation hangover and strive to create balance in my life.  Through my blog I want to share personal stories, healthy living tips, and the little things that keep me smiling every day.  Oh, and I am also an avid feminist.

Interests: education, feminism, femininity, policy, advocacy, culture, social justice, fashion, the Pacific Northwest, craft beer, iced coffee, social media, and finding the bright side to life's every day crumbles.

  1. "Expectation hangover" LOVE THAT. I'm trying to not let expectations from others determine how I feel and how I act. All I can do is the best I can do. I often put too much pressure on myself to make others happy and it stresses me out often. Not good!

Thanks for having me on your blog roll. Lovely to meet you, Laura!

    1. Hi Katy! Thanks SO MUCH for stopping by. I may or may not have geeked out a little seeing your comment. The term "expectation hangover" came from this book I started last summer called "Twenty Something Twenty Everything" (basically self-help for women in their twenties).

I hope you come back and visit!
      :)
